Does MagSafe charge through a tumbler lid?

In the NMT mount, the phone rests directly against the charger's face. The lid holds the charger around its edge, so the lid is not between the phone and charger.

The lid holds your charger

The NMT mount replaces your cup's original lid. Your charger fits face-up into the mount.

Your magnetic charger holds the phone. Connect it to power to charge your phone. The mount has no magnets or electronics of its own.

Use an Apple 25W MagSafe Charger or Samsung Qi2 25W Magnet Wireless Charger (EP-P2900). Your charger is required and sold separately.

Choose the skin for your charger

Every NMT mount fits either supported charger. Their center faces differ in size, so the Charger Skin must match your Apple or Samsung charger.

Where the cable goes

The cable passes through the lid, wraps around the cable management underneath, and exits at the back. Extra cable sits in the lid's recess, leaving room inside the cup for small essentials.

Your phone and case

Phones with built-in magnets attach directly, including most iPhone models from iPhone 12 onward and select Android phones with Qi2 magnets. Phones without built-in magnets need a magnetic MagSafe or Qi2 case. Your phone charges as fast as your charger and phone allow.

With the mount fitted, your cup is a phone dock and storage space. Put the original lid back on when you want to use the cup for drinks.
